Tiers 2 and 3 Interventions

In College Station ISD, we have a variety of support systems for interventions when students are not successful with the classroom differentiation provided at Tier 1. According to most models for RtI, this tends to be about 20% of students, with only about 5% needing Tier 3 intensive supports.

While Tier 2 Interventions often happen in the classroom, CSISD has made intervention a priority by employing specialists at all of our elementary, intermediate, and middle school campuses. These specialists are teachers who are highly skilled and trained to provide research-based and proven strategies to help students in need. Additionally, our teachers and administrative staff come together to form Student Intervention Teams (or SIT) who meet regularly to review student data, make plans, discuss progress, and evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions provided by both the classroom teacher(s) and the specialists.

Several resources are also available at each campus including the Pre-Referral Intervention Manual, The Master Instructional Strategies Flipchart , and The Teacher's Encyclopedia of Behavior Management.
